Water left in an engine block or lower unit can freeze and crack it. Untreated fuel goes stale over winter. Winterizing prevents both.

Winterizing is usually done right before the wrap goes on, in the same visit.

What’s included

  • Fuel stabilizer added and run through
  • Engine fogged to protect cylinders
  • Water drained from block and manifolds where applicable
  • Lower unit oil checked
  • Battery disconnected or removed

When you need it

  • Your boat is coming out of the water for winter
  • You are not sure how to winterize your engine
  • You had a hard start last spring
  • You want it done with the wrap

How it works

  1. Tell us about your boat — Type, length and where it will spend the winter.
  2. Get a quote & date — A local wrapper calls back with a price and time slot.
  3. We wrap it on site — Framed, heat-sealed and vented. No trailering required.

What affects the price

Every property is different, so quotes are based on a few things:

  • Outboard, inboard or sterndrive
  • Number of engines
  • Extra systems like freshwater or heads
  • Done with or without shrink wrap

Request a quote and you’ll get a clear price before anything is booked.

Engine winterizing — questions

Should I winterize before wrapping?

Yes — once the wrap is on, getting to the engine is harder.

Do you do inboard engines?

Many providers do. Mention your engine type in the quote request.
